Spring Blossom, Hagley Park

With one third of Christchurch set aside as reserves and parks, it's no wonder it is called the 'Garden City'. Covering 161ha, Hagley Park, with its gardens, open spaces, trees, playing fields and the tranquil Avon River is a favourite place for picnickers and joggers. The city celebrates its gardens every February with the Garden City Festival of Flowers.
