Kohimarama is one of Auckland's best eastern beach suburbs, situated between Mission Bay with its lively bar and restaurant scene, and St Heliers Bay, a seaside village with all major banks, post office, library and shops. By car, within a few minutes drive are local attractions that include world-famous Kelly Tarltons Underwater World, waterfront restaurants, heated swimming pool/gym complex, shopping centres and supermarkets. Colonial boutique suburb Parnell, and Newmarket, Auckland's favourite shopping precinct, both lie within a 15 minute drive, as do the Auckland Domain, War Memorial Museum, and the inner city itself. From the waterfront you can take a Hop-on Hop-off Explorer tour, combining a ferry ride to the lovely marine suburb of Devonport, or the volcanic island of Rangitoto.
